The latest version of the Pilot Roaster Shop software is specifically designed for PROBAT's Probatone series shop roasters, offering comprehensive capabilities for recording, editing, analyzing, storing, and recalling roasting profiles.

The software facilitates detailed documentation of roasting procedures by capturing manual interventions initiated by the roast master. All modifications to burner performance are timestamped and linked to specific temperature points, enabling the execution of automatic roasting programs based on either time or temperature parameters upon profile recall. These recipes are fully editable after their initial creation, with additional data such as batch weight and coffee variety being optional inputs. The system thus supports consistent replication of roasting results, although it is acknowledged that roasting remains a craft requiring skill and passion. Even in automatic mode, operators retain the ability to intervene during the process to optimize outcomes.

Connectivity between the roaster and mobile devices—smartphones or tablets—is established via Wi-Fi, which must be installed within the roastery premises. This allows users to operate and monitor the system remotely across the workshop. It is essential that the roaster remains under supervision during operation. The real-time data transmitted includes key parameters such as current temperature, temperature development rate (TDI), elapsed roasting time, burner performance, and status indicators for various drives. This information can be stored and further refined at a later point. The application also enables remote regulation of the modular burner and facilitates user-friendly control of the roasting process through compatible mobile devices.

The interface displays multiple critical views: the current product temperature, TDI (Temperature Development Indicator), roasting duration, burner efficiency, and drive statuses—all presented within the --Roasting-- mode. Graphical representations include real-time and nominal curves for temperature development. Users can influence burner performance directly from this operational interface. The --Recipe Manager-- organizes recipes—each encompassing details about coffee type or blend alongside recorded profile parameters (time, temperature, burner performance). Users can specify intervals at which data points are saved for clarity and analysis.

The --History-- module archives all previous roasts associated with the connected system. Entries can be filtered by production date for easy retrieval, enabling existing profiles to be reused or adapted into new recipes. To assist with troubleshooting, a dedicated >Alarms> section displays error codes indicating potential issues with the roaster. Configuration options are accessible via >Adjustments> and >Connections>, allowing tailored setup and easy customization in accordance with user preferences.

The Pilot Roaster Shop app offers functionalities comparable to desktop PC software but is exclusively compatible with Probatone Series 2 shop roasters that have been factory-prepared accordingly. Retrofit kits are available upon request to enable compatibility with other units.
